As you're looking for a therapist, it is most important to find someone with whom you, or all members of your relationship feel connection and support. The right therapist for you will create an environment where you feel safe, engaged and challenged in exploring whatever is bringing you into therapy:

What types of Clients do you work with? While my work centers on relationships of all types and structures (romantic relationships, friends, found families, and families), I work with both individuals and relationships in therapy. Otherwise, my focus is primarily on those in helping professions, or members of the LGBTQIA+ community

As an Autistic/ADHD person living with chronic illness, my lived experience is an important part of how I work as a therapist, and I tend to work best with folks who think or process their experiences in a systemic way. In my role as a therapist I use a combination of Family Systems, Attachment and Feminist Theory to guide my practice. So, what does that mean?

It means that we would look at the systems you live within, your relationships, family of origin and how you relate to others, and explore the larger impact that power within those systems has on your experience. Through this process, you might find patterns of relating that you want to change, internalized beliefs about yourself or others that you want to challenge, or you might just want support developing insight and coping skills.

Why go to therapy? Having a secure place to develop skills and explore your past and present, and the context that you live within are important parts of taking care of your mental health. There are many expected and unexpected changes that occur in our lifetime and actively addressing those moments can create positive change that lasts beyond that initial catalyst.

It is important to acknowledge that there are both rewarding and challenging aspects to the process of being in therapy and I have found that in the face of trauma, loss, and transitions, humor has a place and can serve in healing.

Background and Experience

I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2020, with a Master of Science in Applied Child and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I held my Limited License from 2020-2023, and as of 2024, am fully licensed in Michigan.

My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in English and in French. I worked in the commercial real estate and sustainability spaces for 6+ years prior to changing careers.

My work as a therapist began largely with college students, high school students, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked with Tobin Counseling for two years as an independent contractor and psychotherapist.
